Translation
...sending A.C. Cameron [to the First International], who was the American workers' representative from the aforementioned conference, with the international labour unions leadership whole heartedly supporting the American workers' 8-hour workday struggles, they called for [people] in every country to participate in solidarity struggles over work time and for every government to legislated the 8-hour day. Therefore, at that time Karl Marx himself was a leader at the First International (International Workingmen's Association) in order to spread the American workers' 8-hour workday struggles around the whole world.
After the first international federation was dissolved, in July 1889 at the reformed Second International conference in Paris, in 1891 at the aforementioned federation's congress in Brussels, and in 1893 at the congress in Zurich, with the coming into being of May 1st as Workers' Struggle Commemoration Day (May Day), starting from 1890, aside from repeatedly celebrating in solidarity in all countries, on that day International May Day came into being with many kinds of struggles such as the participation of the working masses in assemblies, marches demonstrating strength, and participation in strikes as means of taking part in the 8-hour workday struggles.
Like that, May Day marched across the World and while struggling to designate [this day] as World Workers' Day, right-wing labour leaders and reformists were not at all pleased and harassed and obstructed [May Day struggles] in various ways. For example, every time May 1st that not coincide with a Sunday on which work was stopped, workers would not go to their workplace and while demonstrating, a conflict would emerge with the government and employers. Therefore, in order to be able to celebrate May Day unhindered they changed it [saying] that only the Sunday of the first week of May should be designated as May Day. In that way the meaning and essence of the day of struggle of the world's workers was destroyed. In that, May Day...
