Translation:

Ngaba’s community and Ngaba’s world were the farm field which he had expanded and Big Goat Hill Village where U Tha Gaung lived. Ngaba had not even once been to other urban villages. [He] had not thought to want to go [to burst forth and to arrive at such places]. Beyond Big Goat Hill [Village], so long as the “Chinese ‘Tun Aa’ Grocery Store” at which to go shopping was there [lit. ‘so long was he was friends with the store], he had no desire to go elsewhere. If there was a donation [to be made] and he wanted to use a little bit of money, if [he] was familiar with and on good terms [with U Tha Gaung] so that [he] could quietly sneak rice away [and sell it] so that U Tha Gaung did not know, was that dishonourable?

Sometimes during nights when [he] had bad digestion, if there was [matter] concerning big cities like Yangon and Mandalay in his dreams, that was sufficient. [He] still happened to remember the year [during] which [matter] about his wife Mi Paw was included [in his dreams]. At that time he had gone and arrived at the big house of U Tha Gaung to settle the farm field rental contract. At that time, he encountered a well-bread urbanite. [Ngaba] noted that the well bred person said that the great Shwedagon pagoda in Yangon was like a great golden mountain elevated and rising and radiantly sparkling and very worthy of veneration.
