Banmaw Tin Aung (3)

This post contains the third page (p.63 in the volume I have) of the short story "Saw Khin and his livelihood" by Banmaw Tin Aung.

Translation:

The work that Saw Khin had to do for her livelihood became long and disheartening. Being like that, if she could not make herself work, then since the food, clothing and shelter problem became very big, encouraging herself in many ways she made herself do that work that she had to do for her livelihood with all out effort. In doing that, there was one kind of work that was greatly disheartening, which San Khin herself could in no way endure stoicly and work for a long time. Saw Khin who had to endure stoicly and do that disheartening work on other days became sick of and loathed having to do that work stoicly. Whether in some way she happened to become disheartened with the work that she had to do for her livelihood, or was sick off and loathed [that work], Saw Khin did not have the strength to flee from that life. And there was no place to which she could flee for refuge.

Saw Khin was a divorcee with one child. Aside from the child in tow she also had an elderly widowed mother. Saw Khin took responsibility for one creature who had not yet reached adulthood and one old female creature who was of extreme old age.
