Translation:

...Although [in Saw Khin's heart] she liked [Ko Myay Aye], in her mind she liked U Ba Thein. In that, for a wife like Saw Khin who was going to take a husband with a livelihood, the matter of her heart could not be the main issue. The decision was only an issue of her mind.

Therefore, in the end, in order to quit from her present livelihood work that she could no longer endure, Saw Khin decided to marry the old widower, the over-40-year-old father of two known as mechanic U Ba Thein from the lighter factory. She chose only good days. During that time, since Saw Khin's work had been agreed to with a contract, she would have to continue to work for about one month after getting married with U Ba Thein. However it was, Saw Khin did not think that that one month would be very exhausting. At the end of the days that she had contracted to work, while considering that she could relaxingly sit and eat, being free from that life, she was happy. During that time, due to that happiness Saw Khin did not feel like it was a long time. However, on the night of the ceremony of the marriage to U Ba Thein, the lighter factor at which her brand new husband worked burnt down and he became jobless.

I think it means that Saw Khin's happiness did not last for long, (not Saw Khin did not feel like it was a long time).
