U Thuzana and Thu Mwe Hta (2)

Translation:

...sweat dripped down all over his face. Because he had come in a great haste he was exhausted to the point of being out of breath. He bent down quite a bit and passed through the group that was sitting and sat near to the monks at the front of the monastery hall. With a small towel that he had he wiped the sweat and prostrated three times to the Buddha image. Without stopping he prostrated three times to U Sandawbatha who was amongst the monks. Afterward [he said]:

"U Sandawbatha, Myaing Gyi Ngoo Sawadaw gave me a letter. Here it is. Please read it."

While addressing [the monk] he offered the envelope. U Sandawbatha reached out and took the letter and opening it read it without making a sound. U Sandawbatha's face went pale. He grit his teeth. Looking frustrated he bit down on his lower lip.

The hands that were holding the letter shook continuously. [Asking himself,] were his eyes deceiving him? he read the letter again. [His eyes] were not wrong. In his chest a sense of resentment arose with a pounding. With a forceful knock [he said]:

"Hmm... they will of course do it, mate. While it is raining heavily they will go to the village," he lamented without being appeased. The monks who were nearby [said]:

"Because of what letter are you so very angry U Sandawya? And the disciple will speak, of course."

"I will speak, I will speak. I will speak to everyone. All of the monks will immediately gather and go to the big monastery, lord."

Without stopping he raised his voice and addressed the monks. Each and every monk reached out and spoke one to another. All of the monks who were on the lower level and the monks who were in the monastery compound with no monk left out gathered together within 5 minutes. Within the sufficient [group of monks? time?] U Sandawbatha said to all of the monks:

"Venerable monks, the benefactor Myaing Gyi Ngoo Sayadaw has given a letter. The disciple will read aloud so that everyone hears. Please listen with concentration."
