Translation:

[Bo Hla So] when he saw [the monks and the groups of people] taking responsibility going up and down the rocky mountainside outcroppings, he thought:

"Hey, there are quite a lot of monks. What are they doing? After gathering on the boulders and rocky outcroppings, maybe they are playing tag. I will ask them just one thing."

"Venerable monks, climbing up and down the rocks, where are you going to?" he asked.

"No Phyu Monk and Bo Mya have ordered us to return to Myaing Gyi Ngoo. We are not allowed to remain here, Bo Hla Soe."

"Hmm... "

Bo Hla Soe, while exhaling quite bluntly made a forceful knocking [sound].

"That's impudent, friends," he continued to say. He then angrily pulled out a pistol from his waist and reached out and fired off all of his bullets at While Elephant Mountain, which he was able to see. When the bullets were all gone he threw the pistol down on the ground. When that was done he ground his teeth firmly and with a hazy pair of eyes looked without pleasure or ease at While Elephant Mountain. After that he softly closed his eyelids. Tears rolled down from his closed eyelids onto the surface of his cheeks.

It was a daring soldier who was crying. In Bo Hla Soe's heart it was unbearable for religion and his anger overflowed and he just started to cry. The group of more than 400 people including the monks went past Bo Hla Soe who was standing and crying and they continued to walk along to bank of the Salween River. As for Bo Hla Soe, it was unbearable for religion and he continued to cry. Not being able to wipe his tears that spread out to the extent that one could say that his anger had violently boiled over, he was left behind standing sullenly.
