U Thuzana and Thu Mwe Hta (4)

Translation:

"A disciple will go and speak to the Sayadaw and will tell him that we cannot give [the monastery]."

"Don't think that. It's not possible. The disciple knows the most about the Sayadaw. It's just like that."

"Of course that's it. If he were to appeal [to the Sayadaw], would it be good to get it?"

"In the Sayadaw's letter [it was written]: 'immediately upon getting the letter, [you] must quickly descend, do not wait.' Okay, this talking has already gone over the [time] limit."

"Therefore... "

"Therefore, don't do nothing. There is only to act in accordance with the Sayadaw's letter."

"Yeah..."

They each happened to breath a deep sigh. U Sandawbatha stood up and [said]:

"The monks will follow in accordance with what the Sayadaw has ordered. All of the monks with only the robe that they always wear without taking any other items will now immediately descend from the big monastery and without waiting head down the road that leads to Myaing Gyi Ngoo. Adhering to the Sayadaw's instructions we will do this immediately."

[This] he spoke. All of the monks stood up. At that time, a traditional medicine practitioner [named] U Ba Boo with a saddened heart wailed loudly. The women wept with a sound of "hin.. hin...". While all of the people were talking they wept continuously and abundantly. They spoke and hollered loudly amongst themselves. [Throughout] the whole monastery [they] raised a hulla-baloo.

U Sawdawbatha went out from the front [of the monastery]. Without restraint the lay patrons stood and pulled at the robes and arms [of the monks], grabbed the legs [of the monks], obstructed [the monks] from the front, [and] with the sound of crying [said]...
