Translation:

In Ayeyarwady [Region] there are combined 33 companies specialising in rice. Some companies have erred and most have appropriately given out financial loans.

If the amount of each company's collected investment and the amount of the farmers' needs from the companies and compared, then [the amount of investment] is very low. Most companies that have given out loans are those which export rice to foreign countries. Therefore, providing supporting methods of strengthening the investment of financial loans is [done] to develop the entire "supply chain", said the founder of a company at a meeting of specialising companies.

Among the financial loans of Myanmar farmers, the financial loans that are taken out from the [Myanma] Agricultural Bank are important. Although the amount of financial loans that are lent out for one acre is low, they are depended upon.

"20,000 kyat per acre is not sufficient. However, [the farmers] get assistance," said a farmer from Naut-pyan-do village, Pya-pon District.
